As regards Dr. Bridges that the laying down of Gas pipes might afford great facilities for a supply of Water to Victoria, I have to observe that it would be of considerable advantage to have the principal mains both of Water and Gas, in one Common covered passage, with openings into the sewers adjoining for the discharge of escaped Gas, instead of permitting its percolation through the soil, this passage might be covered with flat stones and access to pipes for examination and repairs easily effected.
